The archery facility has two field courses including a 28-target field course, approved for registered tournaments by the National and State Archery Associations where registered
shoots are run each year. During the Winter, an Arctic Shoot is held for
the hardy. A 3-D Match is usually scheduled for later in the Spring. This
match includes the use of life-sized and life-like targets placed naturally
in the wooded section of the course. The practice course has static targets
placed at 20, 30, and 40 yards from the firing line, as well as above-ground
positions to practice tree-stand shots.3-D Archery Upcoming Events Currently Underway
Indoor Archery Resumes in December 2007 The goal of the Indoor Archery League is to provide members and guests an opportunity to shoot their bow on a weekly basis throughout the winter months in an environment that is friendly, competitive and most important, fun. The league is on Wednesday evenings (Indoor Pistol Range) and runs for 12 weeks. There will be two shifts once the official rounds begin, 5-7pm and 7-9pm, with a preference for having the 7pm shift as full as possible (up to 36 shooters). Each participant will need to shoot at least two scores prior to the first league night for purposes of establishing an average so that teams can be formed. Practice rounds can be shot on Sunday's from 5-8pm and Wednesday's from 4-10pm. The league will utilize NFAA blue and white 5-spot or single-spot targets (your choice) and will consist of shooting 60 arrows from 20 yards for a total of 300 points per night. We will establish 3-person teams and have a handicap system so that all shooting abilities can compete. The cost is $50 per person which covers supplies, a league shirt, a full banquet and trophies. Its not to late to sign up so come on down or give me a call at (781)229-2548. |
